Red cabbage salad is perfect for cooling down on the hottest days ahead. Learn how to make it.
Ingredients
- 1 small red cabbage
- 1 green apple
- 1 large carrot
- 1 small red onion
- 50 g raisins
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped walnuts optional
- Lemon juice optional
Preparation
- Wash all the vegetables well. Cut the red cabbage into thin strips and place it in a large bowl.
- Peel the apple and cut it into small cubes, adding them to the bowl with the red cabbage.
- To prevent the apple from oxidizing, sprinkle it with lemon juice.
- Grate the carrot and chop the red onion into thin half-moons. Add both to the bowl.
- Add the raisins and mix all the ingredients well.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the sauce by mixing the mayonnaise, natural yogurt, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Add the dressing to the salad and mix well so all the ingredients are well coated.
- If desired, add chopped nuts at this step.
- Let the salad rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, so that the flavors can develop.
